How can I play?

Fill in the entry form on this site, print it off, sign it and send it to FREEPOST CARMARTHENSHIRE LOTTERY. Leaflets are also available from by calling 01267 221071.

How much does it cost?

Each number cost £1 a week. To make the administration of the lottery easier, entries are paid for a minimum of four weeks, but you can also pay monthly, quarterly or annually. If you only want 1 number, you pay £4 every four weeks, £4.34 monthly, £13 a quarter or £52 annually.

I don’t like standing orders, can I pay another way?

Yes, send us a cheque or postal order. We do ask for a minimum of £13 if paying by cheque.

I don’t have a bank account, can I still play?

Yes, you can pay by postal order.

How many numbers can I have?

As many as you like! There is no limit; it’s a £1 per number per week.

Can I choose my own numbers?

No, you are allocated the next number in line and you keep that number for as long as you choose to play.

What are the odds of me winning?

There are currently 2,100 people playing Carmarthenshire Lottery. The odds of winning one of 7 prizes are therefore 1 in 300.

If there are only 2,100 people in the lottery, why is my number over 3,000?

For administration purposes the numbers allocated were started at 1,000.

How will I know if I’ve won?

The draw is broadcast on Radio Carmarthenshire every Friday at 10:45am and the winner is publicised in the Carmarthen Journal, Llanelli Star and on this website.

Do I have to claim?

No, we will contact you if you win.

Do I have to have my photo in the paper?

We reserve the right to publicise winners but we will not force you to have your photo in the paper! We would hate that to prevent you from playing.

Who runs the lottery?

The lottery is run by the directors of the Camarthenshire Lottery, administered and managed by Michelle Rees.

Where does the money go?

After paying the prize money and expenses such as the marketing, premises and staff, the rest of the proceeds will go to Carmarthenshire businesses in the form of interest free loans.

When is the draw?

The draw is carried out every Friday at 10:45am

How is the draw done?

All lottery entries are put on a special computer database, every Friday an independent person is asked to press the ‘draw’ button on the computer. The computer then initiates its random programme and picks one number out of the entries.

How quickly do I get the money should I win?

Immediately. A cheque is ready in the lottery office as soon as the draw is done.

Where is the lottery based?

In an office at the reception of the Carmarthenshire Journal offices in King Street, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire

I live outside Carmarthenshire, can I still play?

Yes, if you have a British address. We will only give loans to businesses based in Carmarthenshire but anyone with a UK address can play.
